By Leicester Business Festival (other events)

ABOUT ABOUT

The event will focus on the importance of SMEs supporting young people aged 16+ to help develop their entrepreneurial mindset, cultivate business acumen and nurture their skills in leadership, innovation and creative thinking.

The session will show how through mentoring and sponsorship opportunities, local SMEs can team up with Leicester College and offer students unique opportunities to participate in enterprise activities and competitions where they can market test and develop business ideas into viable propositions. Participants will hear from guest speakers and a selection of SMEs currently supporting Leicester College with enterprise engagement. They will share their experiences and reflect on how other young people and businesses benefit from this relationship. The session will end with Q&A.

Also - supporting young people will enable SMEs to meet their Corporate Social Responsibility objectives enabling organisations to better attract new recruits and wider stakeholders. In April 2017, Business News Daily reported that “a company’s CSR strategy is a big factor in where today’s top talent chooses to work.” This sessions aims to highlight the importance of SMEs working with education.

This event will be held at the College’s Enterprise Academy at St Margaret’s Campus, St John Street, Leicester LE2 3WL. The campus is a short walk from the Clock Tower. Alternatively, attendees can use the pay and display car park opposite the campus.
