Before Community Interest Companies (CICs) came into being, Social Entrepreneurs who wanted to start a business for a social or charitable purpose had no option but to establish a Charity with independent Trustees with a separate trading company. CICs are a structure which combines elements of a charity that attracts grants, funds and philanthropic giving, but can be enterprising and sustainable through trading activities.
The deputy CIC regulator Anne Vincent will present this session giving advice to existing Community Interest Companies and those considering forming one.
