Are you a business who wants to find out how the design of physical space can make a difference to efficiency, productivity and creativity? When people think about interior design they usually think about aesthetics however it is important to apply the same strategy to the physical environment as you would to your IT systems. ‘In software you iterate, make changes, upgrade, and evolve. The physical space needs to be thought of in the same way.’(Morgan, 2015)
This event, organised by the Interior Design programme at DMU will provide opportunities for sharing knowledge and skills with the business community focusing on the significance of interior space and how we use it and how this impacts on efficiency, productivity and creativity in any sector.
It will be hosted by staff and students and will include academic and student talks, alongside a design clinic in the form of 'round table' discussions with industry experts on the theme of strategic design thinking to support business development.
We recognise that each business has its own unique issues, challenges and goals which need consideration when rethinking the space in which it is housed. This will be of particular interest to local business owners who are looking to maximise all areas of their offering which could be achieved through providing the right kind of environment.
